What would you do if you were Prime Minister for the day?
Where do I start? Maybe extend the voting age to 17 and lower the school leaving age along with it. After all it’s when most people have passed their GCSE’s and I think people should also be free to choose to learn. I’d also establish a prize for a team that developed an aircraft capable of carrying a certain amount of people or cargo either a transcontinental or transatlantic distance using a renewable source of energy and generating as minimal a carbon footprint as possible

What was the last thing you cried about?
I cried In frustration at losing my passport in early May and not being able to go to Canada to meet my cousins and for a wedding as I couldn’t get a replacement passport in time. I absolutely hate losing things generally (doesn’t help the self esteem or competence) and I really wanted to go mainly to see my Canadian cousins who I’ve never met before.

If you could debate against anyone (living or dead) on any topic, who and what would you choose?
There is one person amongst many who I’d like to debate with and that is nationalist Japanese Governor of Tokyo Shintaro Ishihara. I’d love to have a debate on nationalism with him but I think we’d need an interpreter given that I’m learning Japanese.

Do you have a ‘party trick’? What is it?
Nope I tend to be a bit of a wallflower by design when it comes parties (and other informal social situations) although with that being said I have been known to engage in a bit of murder on the dance floor ,not literally though!.

What would you do if you won the lottery?
Hmm a lot of choices. Probably either donate a significant part of the money to charity or use it to either set up some kind of award for neurologically disabled people of which I’m one or think tank. Something practical and that would help people either in developing countries or developed ones. The rest I’d use to further my writing and research into various areas that I’m interested in amongst other stuff. Journals and articles don’t come cheap and libraries although good don’t necessarilly have the stuff I’m looking for.

Do you have a favourite charity or cause?
Causes plural. The main cause that I’m interested in is neurodiversity (Hopefully someday I’ll write a book about it) and disability rights. However the thing I’d love to do is work on getting people standing up and speaking about various issues something that I feel is important given the state of the world. Also I’m interested in the environment and space exploration two things that are not as polar opposites as you might think.

Could you survive without the internet?
No but I’d do my best to learn how. Despite appreciating the web for many reasons, I’m worried about autistic culture’s potential over-reliance on the world wide web (putting your eggs all in one basket). It would give me an excuse to get out more to places and meet new people instead of running the risk of fading away half the time.

Do you have a secret reality TV addiction? IF SO, CONFESS NOW!
I don’t have a secret addiction. I have an open morbid interest in whether the whole juggernaut (especially a certain show) is going to go off the rails and end up in a massive pile up and I don’t just mean a few stupid remarks that cause a diplomatic incident between one country and another. Otherwise I used to watch some reality TV programmes especially The Games, The Apprentice and The Contender but now just sniff at the odd news article or blog on MSN although sometimes..

What are your favourite websites?
Again where do I start.... BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk (particuarly BBC News Sport and Ouch- that’s the disability section). Autism Hub, The Asia Times (Thanks to Alex for giving me a hint about that one), Facebook (some fortunate reunions there that I’ve got to work on) the list goes on…

What are the tope 5 tunes on your iTunes playlist?
I don’t have an Ipod due to me being a bit stingy on cash and being like a snail to get round to that type of thing but my top five favourite songs or tunes are : Realize by Namaki Tami, The Halo Suite, Video Games Live. Eyes on Me sung by Faye Wong, Don’t be afraid by Nobuo Uematsu, and Show Me Your Firetruck by Hans Zimmer. Oh and I know this is pushing it but “Yui the Only One for Me” by the LeetStreet Boys deserves a special mention. If only they didn’t use Paypal…
